Hes been on youtube and now an advertisement in the new Acoustic Guitar magazine,
did he jump ship from Taylor to Guild?
Did he finally get tired of that trebly tone of the Taylor?

@Dave: Yes, discussed a lot here previously. Just use search.
But easiest to read on his own webpage:
http://www.doyledykes.com/1-23-12/
If you scroll down there you see also some nice photos of him with Guilds. And if you search on Youtube you will find his NAMM 2012 videos where he plaed for Guild/Fender.

I went to see him last Friday in Middletown, NY (Orange Co.) at Alto Music ( an awesome store with a very complete line of Guilds, thank you please!). It was his first clinic for Guild and he was amazing. I confess I hadn't heard of him, I only went to see cool Guild stuff. I am now a big fan. He is a very nice man, super friendly and very real. Because it was his first Guild clinic, he didn't charge for his book or CDs. I also won a Guild "G" shield T shirt, which I had intended to buy anyway. All in all, an amazing night.

sweet, bytr6!

Doyle is a great ambassador. He did wonders for Taylor, and it's a coup that we've now got him for Guild.

Anybody that lives in the Hudson Valley should check out Alto Music. They have three stores: one in Monsey (Rockland County), one in Middletown (Orange County), and one in Wappinger's Falls (Dutchess County). I have shopped there for 30+ years and their selection, service and overall quality are second to none. And, they've got a big Guild selection, and Fender, and Gibson, etc.
Check them out.

I saw him play here in Tacoma last fall, sponsored by Ted Brown Music and Taylor. He played Taylors most of the night, but when he wanted a twelve string, it was a new Guild 12'er. Regardless of what he played, he was awesome. He hung around after and shook the hands of every single person who wanted to meet him. A class act, and not half bad finger picker, either.
