Grateful Dead Singer Donna Jean Godchaux Dead at 78

Donna Jean Godchaux, who spent the Seventies singing with the Grateful Dead and provided vocals on an Elvis Presley hit, has died at the age of 78.

Rip. Not a Donna hater, but I do find a lot of her pre 76 singing a tough listen. And even post 76 it depended on the song. IMO, she was even better w/ the JGB than the Dead.

Like her or not (I do) she was part of that immortal GD sound machine that helped define a generation. Rest in peace Donna.

RIP Donna. She was a part of a lot of my favorite Dead shows. Sometimes her contributions were excellent, sometimes not, but it wouldn't have been the same without her.
