I'm kind of reminded of this, especially Jack Casady's facial expressions and eyebrows during the first 20 seconds or so.

It is amazing how he get all those different sounds out of his Telecaster with playing style looking like that. Dr. Feelgood were a great band until Wilko left.

After reviewing this Hot Tuna video referred to above and Bootsy's "Formula for Funk" lesson I have to wonder if Jack picked up some pointers for "keepin it on the One" from Bootsy?

Back to the subject on Norman Watt-Roy. I became familiar with him via a Ian Drury & the Blockheads dvd. He's really a tasty player and fun to listen to & watch. Picked up a pointer or two from him on slap-n-pop techniques.

But ya gotta admit the guy was not winning any prizes for good looks. Perhaps that has changed... a friend said N W-R was written up in a UK magazine. It was about dental reconstruction stories, particularly for aging rock stars. He was interviewed about it all in the story, as i recall.
