The bright red one above looks good to me, but I preferify rotomatics. If Guild ever put rotomatics on these bright red ones, in what years did they do so?

Hello Darryl,

Grover RotoMatics ( the import version) became standard on the D-25 halfway the '80s and they stayed there till the second half of the '90s. However, in typical Guild tradition they would use something else when temporary shortages forced them to do so. So it's possible for a D-25 from that period to have something else than Grover RotoMatics.

Sincerely,

Thanks Hans. I didn't even know there was an import version of rotomatics.

Darryl,

Maybe I should have formulated it a little different but at that point in time there was nothing else but the imported versions of the Grover RotoMatics. US Made Grovers were already history.

Sincerely,

She’s in the same great condition minus a couple of finish cracks underneath the pickguard
:? Say what?
Hi AJ: just guessing but he might mean between the pickguard and the waist ... if you turned the guitar with its neck pointing to your right, if there were cracks where I'm suggesting, they'd be 'underneath' the pg ... like I said, just guessing but cracks there are somewhat common on older F models, not sure about whether the same is true for D models not not. Otherwise ... ????

I interpreted the description "finish cracks" as "checking" of the finish, not wood cracks, either between the pickguard and waist or between the pickguard and bridge. If you are contemplating buying this D-25, I'd ask to make certain. If it's just a little checking, IMO $600 is not an unreasonable asking price for a D-25 with electronics (don't know anything about PUPs, tho') in VG-E condition.

Hi Dave; well ... his description is ambiguous and anybody seriously interested in it needs to ask him for some more details. If the 'finish' cracks are at the waist, then they'd be where through-cracks are commonly found on older F models ... to me it's a Yellow Card. J
