If you did, did anyone happen to contact them and catch an email address? Apparently ebay has disabled the ability to contact sellers of unsold items. I'm sure they're trying to dissuade off ebay transactions.

Anyway, how often did they make these in the orange finish? Are these Bluesbirds chambered? Also, do ya'll think it would be possible to put Filter'Trons in there? I wouldn't mind a somewhat more Gretsch-style sounding guitar... I just would prefer it be a Guild. :)

Hmmm... I don't think orange was ever a standard color. Might have been a early Corona build when they we're coming out of the Fender custom shop before "normal" production got started. Just a guess. So far all the Corona BB's I've seen had the green fur cases - and the Westerly ones had the maroon fur.

IMHO, those Gibson Burstbucker Pros are pretty good pickups, I wouldn't be in a big hurry to change them out. They obviously won't sound like a Gretsch, though...

If you go to the original listing and click on the members name under "Member Info" you can still contact the seller.

That's weird... I tried that yesterday and it wouldn't let me do it. Now it is. Thanks for pointing it out!

TV Jones has two different options to do that - he sells Gibson humbucker sized Filtertrons, ànd he sells Gibson sized humbucker frames that work with standard-sized Filtertrons. Haven't seen a modern Bluesbird up close, but I assume you can make a Gibson pickup surround fit on those.

In looking at it again, it may not really be orange - seller says it's red so it may just be the color in the photo is off. If you're seriously interested, I'd email the seller, get the serial number and email Fender and ask what it really was. The red was a production color, but it would be a Bluesbird Standard, not a Bluesbird AAA despite what the seller may suggest in his description.

It may not matter to you if you're hot for the guitar, but a Bluesbird AAA was considered a different model, with different finishes (cherry sunburst, tobacco sunburst, natural) than the Bluesbird. MSRP was a couple hundred $ more for the AAA, I think.

It's red. I asked the seller. I find it funny that he relisted at a higher price after I showed interest.

Anyway, these look like cool guitars. I've never played one, but would imagine I'd like it. It'll have to wait... I've got my eye on a few other things right now that are more pressing.

More pressing that a Bluesbird???

Hah! I've been watching all of those on Ebay and have kept my powder dry. However, I DID succumb to the natural DeArmond S-73 to augment my own 1973 Guild S-100! Too valuable to take out to play anymore! The S-73 came from Rockin' Bobs in MA, check out rockinbobsguitars.com for his inventory. Honest guy & a good deal.

Cool. I'll check them out. Thanks!

Yeah, I really don't need another electric right now, I need an acoustic more. I'm thinking about getting a 70's F-40. 8)
