Hey all,

I'm new here to the forum. I'm not a Guild owner but I am a fan of their acoustic guitars. Until I came here I did not realize that they had such interesting, older electric models as well. I will have to keep my eyes open to try one used sometime!

Anyway, a friend of mine asked me to check out his guitar. He asked me if I would not mind trying to sell it for him as I have sold a handful of guitars, and related items, through craigslist and forums.

I believe it's a DeArmond S73 in natural/brown color. I plugged it in, and it makes noise, but it's no strung with the right gauge strings. It has the Gold Tones USA pickups in it. I believe it's from around 1998 - 2001.

So, I have some pictures, taken with a poor camera, and I'm wondering if anyone can put and approx. value on it. It's seen a bit of abuse as my friend loaned it out to someone 8 or 9 years ago who played in a fairly aggressive punk band. It's nothing terrible, but it has some solid dents and cracks in the gloss finish.

Here's a link to my google picasa album for the guitar - http://picasaweb.google.com/WorstBandNa ... directlink

I would appreciate any advice/opinion.

Thanks!

Matt, NJ

P.S. - I believe I'm posting in the right part of the forum. I apologize if it is not.

I didn't look at the guitar but typically they run in the $300 to $450 range. The higher range with a case is likely.

Take a look at ebay for an estimate of pricing. Their is one on there now with an added aftermarket Bigsby. The most rare S73 has a red transparent finish. Transparent green and natural are more common.

My S73 was the same color. In generally excellent shape except for two significant dings, one larger and through to the wood. No case. Bought it for 275, sold it for the same. A bargain price, for a very useful guitar.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I sold it this morning for $220 as it had a fair amount of dings, a decent crack in the finish, and a knob was cracked too. Plus it needed a good restring and the actions needed to be adjusted.

Be well and thanks again.

Matt
