There were none. They were made in Korea, and later, Indonesia. That doesn't stop them from being nice guitars though. Here's mine!
But what about the USA head stock inlay and non Korean/ Indonesia serial “C”?
Guild doesn’t have any serial # information in this guitar🤷‍♂

Unfortunately for the USA claim, that's a box stock DeArmond. The pickups are USA made, but the rest of that particular guitar is Korean. I played mine at an open mic one time and got compliments.

Thx but now I’m going to have to discuss this with the seller. Can I ask what ur expertise is? The “C” isn’t meaningful? I thought Korean gtrs were KC and Indonesian made were IC.

It's not any inlay but looks like a decal which is on top of all the poly lacquer, see the shadow. And like GAD said, the "Crafted in Korea" and the K were simply removed from that 1999 Korea Cort made guitar. So the "C" stands for the former "Cort" (Cor-Tek) factory. That factory was closed in 2008. And those guitars were never made in USA.

Collectively we are probably the most knowledgeable about Guilds outside of a handful of experts, some of whom are also members here.

There were no US-made Guild/DeArmond guitars. DeArmond was specifically an import brand that Guild sold as a lower-cost option at the time. Your guitar was made in Korea - just look at the examples Ralf and others have shown. It was modified to look like a US-made guitar even though it was made in Korea. If you'd like to see the catalog pages here is one from my site:

Here's the whole catalog: https://www.gad.net/Blog/2010/07/28/guild-gallery-catalog-1999-july-december/

Answered above - someone scraped off the "K" from the S/N and the "Crafted in Korea" from above it. In reference to your other question, the S/N is just inked or printed over the finish, which is likely poly and not lacquer.

Also, I should add that if there was actually a US-made DeArmond from the Guild era we would all be VERY excited about it.

Here's the page from the same catalog that describes them being built in Korea:

I'm glad you checked in with us before you (hopefully) laid out cash for this. One of the things I most hate, is to have someone posting happily about their new guitar and having to point out that it was misrepresented.

I believe this guitar was listed on reverb recently and the seller seemed to suggest that it was Corona-built (Because of the USA "inlay" and "C" serial)
