Although I'm going to reveal my ign'ance here, I suspect there might be at least one other person I can help with this post.

A DeArmond 2K isn't a Dynasonic. A 2K is a recent DeArmond that looks like an old Dynasonic, but isn't. I used to think 2K was just another name for Dynasonic. I found out the difference when I sent a pair of 2Ks to a guy who wanted Dynasonics. The person who received them was a member of this forum in good standing.(So you know it wasn't Coastie, West, Squawk, or Kidder. You also know I didn't send them to myself. Because my member doesn't stand at all. Too much Texas locoweed, apparently.)

DeArmond 2K (as found on Korean DeArmond guitars and the Fender tele-sonic) = Fender's attempt at a P90 that looks like a Classic DeArmond 200. Doesn't have the "oomph" of a real P90, but leans more towards that sound than towards a true DeArmond pickup, steel poles, magnets under the coil.

DeArmond 2000 (as found on Guild X160 Rockabilly and current Gretsch Electromatics) = somewhat of a DeArmond 200 "light" - 7 to 8Kohm output as opposed to the real thing's 10 to 13Kohm output, but it does have magnet polepieces like the originals. Twangier, more percussive than the 2K, but thinner and weaker than the real thing.
