This is a question for Hans:

I'm a relatively recent newcomer to LTG, but a long time Guild owner. I purchased a SF3 BL Maple last year and can't independently verify the year / location of manufacture.

The SN is AG301093. All of the dating charts I have found on the internet, including Guildguitars.com show the last SF3 SN manufactured in Westerly to be AG103083 in 1999. I cannot find any SN records beyond 1999. The label inside the guitar is from Westerly RI, with the hand written AG103093. Did Westerly manufacture SF3s into 2000 in RI? What were the SNs beyond 1999?

Can you help :?:

Hello Dave,

Welcome! First of all I assume that the last number that you did find on the internet, #AG103083, is a typo and you meant to write #AG301083, which was not the last number for 1999 but 1997. Right now there are no numbers available on the internet after 1997.

The label inside the guitar is from Westerly RI, with the hand written AG103093. Did Westerly manufacture SF3s into 2000 in RI?

Again I assume that you meant to write #AG301093 ( as you pointed out at the beginning of your posting). Anyway this SF3 was made in Westerly during the beginning of 1998.

And yes, Westerly produced single cutaway Starfires up till the plant was closed during 2001

Hope this answers your questions.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust
