Happy NGD, Russman! Looks just beautiful!

Keep an eye on that crazing around the bridge. Looks like small impact damage, but could be a sign of bridge lift / belly.

Y2K is the last year for great guitars for me, the end of an era across the board, it's just coincidental that Westerly goes out at the same time.

Looks like it has "rich" tone.

The bearclaw is insane, medullary rays or something like that. Art in nature far surpasses man, possibly even AI ;[]

I wish I could remember the serial # of my last D55, but you mention "last of the Westerly". I think Hans told me that mine had been the 6th or 7th from last D55 to come out of Westerly. Enjoy. They are great guitars.

HI Russman, not sue exactly what you man by "last of the Westerly" but GUIld was still taking orders through summer of '01 and shipping guitars through November.

When I got my '01 F65ce the shop had put a hang tag on it: "LAST OF THE WESTERLYS" which of course I took literally until a couple of years later when I discovered it was actually the last new Westerly-built Guitar Showcase would ever see.

Mine was in one of the last shipments to leave Westerly though, with 2 other F65ce's in November of '01.

The actual last guitar built in Westerly was an Artist Award signed by all who had a hand in building it. The owner joined and showed it here a few years back. ;)

Westerly still shipped great guitars in year 2001!
Officially the letter of the last Artist Award Benedetto shipped showed "...facility’s permanent closing on August 31, 2001."
But as Al said, shipments happened into November and only end of December the lights went out finally according to a post somebody created in the past.
