Thank you for the info. Is the price good? I have no idea. I've mostly been focused on D50, 55 and 60.

Hi WC_Guitarist, no it's not maple : there are Stratocasters and Telecasters made of Ash. Swamp Ash is reported to be top notch. Don't know more about it (except my 60th Anniversary Telecaster is made of Ash - 1951-2011 = 60 years). Taylor has some guitars made of recycled urban ash (b&s) these days too...

Ash is like a fine wine. Wait…something about wine anyway.

It might be on the high side for those, but I'd say if at all interested, you should arrange to go see it in person and play it, if its close enough that its not too much trouble. Maybe make a low offer if it suits you.

I used to own a Gibson Swamp Ash Les Paul model. Visually a very pleasing wood.

It seems to sound quite bright on an acoustic ; one would have to like it

I've seen several labels printed by this person, including the one in mine.

Whaddya bet that person is left-handed? I can tell, I think, by the way the letters lean.

(I used to have to deal with handedness, so I notice these things.)

It might seem so, but when I hear it played, the D46 is not overly bright, it is exceptionally balanced. Although like with any acoustic, you can coax heavier bass or bright high treble tones out of it depending how you attack/play it.

Well, mine went into the shop yesterday for a new nut and some fret work. I have not spent one dime on that old guitar in the 22 years I've owned it, but it's time.

The guy I took it to loves Guilds, and owns a DV-72. He took mine and started playing up and down the neck to confirm my diagnosis of a worn nut. Got a big smile on his face as he did so and said, "Man, would you listen to that?" I think he liked it.

You’ve got to show me his handiwork when you get it back!

I just got around to replacing the strap button in the neck heel with a schaller strap lock button, and I am using the d’addario clip on strap lock for the end pin button, (which is just a normal acoustic guitar pin, not an electronic output jack), and I gotta say it works out great. One time the end pin strap came off was one time too many. Thankfully I had a good grip on the neck and was able to avert disaster and nothing happened to it. So now I’ve ended that possibility, lol 😂

Oh and that reminds me, @GAD, your review of the D46 stated it had a 1 5/8 nut width, and I just measured mine and it is 1 11/16. Is your review accurate and yours really was 1 5/8, or was it a rookie mistake on your part? Lol

Securing the strap is definitely the way to go. I just use tight fitting rubber washers and it does the job but those strap locks are nice.
My band was playing a gig and the strap of our lead singer’s Martin 000-15 came off at the heel (he wasn’t using any reinforcement). He wasn’t holding the guitar and it fell to the concrete floor face down. You could hear everyone gasp. It made the most horrible noise when it smacked the floor. Luckily it only ended up with a pretty good ding on the end of the headstock. Got my heart racing for a minute.
