It seems there sere a lot of different designations for the D25; M, Ch, Br, Nat, SB, Tennesee Orange, Yellow, Blue, White, I know I'm missing some? I believe this model had more color variety than any other Guild produced.

The one I always think of as prototypical D-25 is the cherry finish from the '70s. I could be wrong, but I'm gonna' guess that was Guild's most-sold version of the D-25.

It was always tough for me to tell between the M and the Ch back in the day.

Yes I think so too but I don't think we've ever seen one in

Orange. Hatted Frau did have an orange one way back when but I believe it was an '80's version, not "Tennessee Orange"

Have also seen a metallic blue from mid-'80's (IIRC), Woodgrain Red, Amber, and "Honey Blond" and "Chestnut" from Corona:

I think the only primary color they never used was Transparent Emerald Green, but I'm only saying that in hopes a pic of the one they did just because they could will pop up to prove me wrong as usual, when I say "never" about Guild.

Never say never when it comes to Guild.

I think blue tinted finishes tend to go green as they age. I had a PRS SE Soapbar Maple II (a flamed maple double cut electrinc w/2 P90s, from PRS' import line) that was a deep emerald green when I got it. I was on the PRS message board at the time, and I was asking some questions regarding the wrap around bridge, and mentioned that the green finish really seemed to make the flame in the maple veneer stand out in a more subtle way than the usual LP style sunbursts. The members of the PRS message board told me that there were never any PRS SEs in green. I posted a picture. They collectively concluded that it was a blue guitar that had faded to green over time. Looked very even, and even though it was poly finished, it had still faded to green.

Like you, I didn't think a poly finish would yellow, either, but in light of Hans' comment I googled it and by golly certain types, particularly oil-based polyurethane, does.

My google search "hit return":

Also recall reading once that Fender at one time actually used both NCL and poly during finishing, so suspect the NCL would still yellow in such circumstances even if the poly didn't.

In the PRS case, suspect the finish must have been oil-based poly-u. But still agree that UV could affect some types of blue finish pigments just like it fades oil-based inks on printed matter, or other guitar finish colors too, for that matter.

I seen a D-25 in a black sparkle that looked factory and I seen an Emeralf Green one from the late 90’s.

Has been hashed and rehashed before, but if I could find a Corona Sapphire Blue in original condition I'd pay very little for it because I have enough but still... I want one. So if anyone has one for $500 I'm in.....:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Right on the Black Sparkle (or was it the same "Holoflake" that appeared on Bluesbird?), but are you sure about the Emerald Green D25?
It occurs to me that it wouldn't surprise me on a D4, because that one got so many "oddball" finishes.

Guess I coulda missed it if it was linked here on the forum, but as a D25 fanboy, pretty sure I would have remembered a sighting in all these years, being so unusual.:)

Here is my post on the Emerald green D-25. I remember it had a 98/99 serial.

Unfortunately it did not occur to me to save more pics of it as the link for the site selling it is no longer available. So my one pic is the only proof of this oddity
