D25 C NT

I recently purchased a 1976 D25 C NT (cutaway) and can't seem to find any information about it. I am wondering if it was in production or some kind of prototype? It was made in Westerly and serial number is EH100146. Any info much appreciated. Thanks

hmmm

well first things first i really doubt that is is a 1976 due to the serial number tracking closest to the last D-25c produced in 1984 which was EH100101 which would make it sometime after that. however the Guild resource shows no record for it. maybe just a numbers error on the website. :?:

SN tables ( http://www.dancipsax.com/iserialguildguitar.html ) and Beesely's Guitar History vol 5 suggest that the D-25C was only made in '83 and '84. Your SN is a little higher than the last one listed on this table. I would guess it was late in '84, or perhaps early in '85 (Hans will probably chime in with more info). It might have a date stamped on the neck block, visible thru the sound hole. That's about all I can find out...

It sounds pretty good. Not the booming sound of my D30, but nice for 300.00. I looked at the neck block and yes, there is a date. Oct. 1983. I guess the guy I bought it from lied to me or didn't know himself. Thanks for the tips.
