Saw a d4 nt true american today advertised. It was my understanding that d 4,s were a pretty much stripped down d 25, available only in a hand rubbed finish. The one im seeing is definately a high gloss ,top, sides, back ,and neck.listing does not say, if it was refinished. Did guild do high gloss on these ,maybe in the later years??? just curious

I recently acquired one of the glossy versions of the D4s and and I love it. Originally the price point was $245.00 more than the satin / HR (hand-rubbed) version, and IMO that increase was justified -- they out-perform the regular D4 sound-wise, and have more in common with some of Guild's higher-end D series models.

If you have a chance to play the guitar, check it out.

"Yes", and even in the first year.

I've had a Tru American F5CE, and F4CE and a Songbird in hand rubbed and like that finish a lot. Prefer it really to high gloss.
