I bought a used CV-1 a few months back on EBAY. Now the action at the 12 fret low E seems a little high, about 5/32". Also I notice that I can slip a piece of paper between the top and neck from the sound hole almost all the way back to the end of the upper bout. I know these guitars have a new design for the neck attachment. Does anyone know if this small gap should exit? The guitar is a 2006 and not a second. It has a guild serial number.

Oh yes, the fretboard extension is not glued to the top on the Contemporary series. Scratch & I recently had our Contemporary series gits worked over,

Here's a thread about the adventure, turns out the necks on the Contemps are relatively simple & inexpensive to adjust.

Thanks Jeff. I read the thread top to bottom and am happy to learn that the neck can be repaired easily if needed. There is a Fender authorized luthier here in Connecticut who calls himself the "guitar mechanic". I called him and he is on vacation until Sept 8th. I will inform him of this site and that thread when I visit him. By the way, my CV-1 is also a beautiful instrument to look at, and to hear. I find the neck a little thick for my hands (tuff to finger pick over a full F chord) but oh the tones.
