Cooked on wood stove in ultra thin = good 100 year old Griswold pan I scored eons ago from Pall Mall smoking old lady who fell on me during my brief visit to buy a truckload of antique canning jars, I just happened to see the pan hanging up in the starcase down to the cellar and asked "How much for the pan" and she said "$5" and the pan came off the wall there and then and hasn't been far from me since.

Looks great Guilded. I’m loving that old Griswald! Nothing better. We do 90% of our cooking with old cast iron. I have 4 in the basement now that I’m stripping to bare metal to be seasoned for my son. If you are looking to make a profit how about $6 for that dirty old pan? 🤪

I'm not a big fan of stripping, at all, ever, too lazy I guess.

We have quite a few cast iron pans all antique, but this Griswold is really thin, prob the thinnest of all. Wife's Wagner of similar size is a boat anchor by comparison, very light pan, gets real hot fast.

The big score I got from the ol gal was an Andreson's Heart Shaped Waffle Iron, made by Griswold in the 20's probably, and wife makes insane apple juice poppy seed waffles in there and so then kiddo says one day she has to have a heart shaped waffle maker like ours, old, pre non stick rubbish, and that "the Andreson's iron we cook in for breakfast sells for as much as over $500 online".

Heartbreaking really, they're that valuable she can't afford one.

I cook inside the wood stove on the coals after the flames die down, this two part meal cooked with spuds on the bottom and the beans on top as a lid for the spuds.

We use a host of old cast iron pots and pans. One of my favorites is an ancient Husqvarna frying pan that's super thin with a hollow rolled handle that's meant for putting a stick into, in order to extend it over a campfire. You can find these everywhere in Swedish thrift stores for under $20. The older ones have a really thin bottom and steep sides.

Not ours, but it looks like this.

Some even have legs!

I am fixated on the eggs. I thought I could easily do without when prices eclipsed $5 per dozen. I am weak and expect to cave to my cravings very soon.
