So our health system just started doing Covid antibody tests. I went and had one today at my (nurse) wife's insistence, and so I could be a little better informed. I had some really nasty respiratory illness for about 6 weeks last Dec. and Jan. so I'm wondering if I might have blown through this thing undetected.

Still waiting for results. Drum roll please...

I am thinking lots of folks may have gone undetected. Either way, glad you are still here "pickin' and grinnin'.

You know, I had some weird bug back in December, too. Started to feel better for a day or so and then relapsed back to square one. Even lost my sense of smell and taste for 4 weeks or so. I wonder if Covid was here earlier than everyone thought? Medical mysteries!

My kid is a deputy sheriff in the Florida panhandle, and he tested positive for antibodies yesterday. Never was sick, even coming off a brutal 3 month night shift. They sent him down today for a viral test, results in up to 10 days. He said so far about 20% of their force was testing positive.

At least they put him on paid administrative leave...he needs some sunshine and exercise.

That definitely sounds like Covid-19! Especially the loss of smell and taste. Covid-19 definitely qualifies as a "weird bug."

Canada .... brrr
These antibody tests are not used by serious health professionals because they detect way too many false positive cases. Though I hope that some reliable test will be available soon as we had some symptoms in mid March when we visited Honolulu and I'm curious if we had actually picked up the virus on the way there.

Yeah, still gotta stay safe! At my tender age, I won't likely be going back to any restaurants or bars any time real soon, even after they open. Really missing my favorite restaurants, and missing my son's band's gigs, but I think I need to proceed with an abundance of caution.

I can't imagine what they new protocol will be for our musical visits with our old friends in the memory care facilities, or if we'll even be allowed inside for the remainder of this year. We are scheduled to start re-visiting them in September, 18 facilities per month.
