Posts I mean...
Oh probably by end of October, knowing me, on a role as of late.
Remember, since 2007, I been trying to prove that Quantity also matters.

Now, if I am reading the LTG "fine print" correctly, that is a JV100 award, right? I will pay the shipping if need be.

Frono, Chaz? just let me know.

Wow, almost 10,000 posts!

I am nowhere near that number, but I'm feeling a bit guilty with the number of posts and time spent on the various forums on the internet. So I might create some new accounts to start from scratch to at least lower the post counts. Psychology you know! 🙃

Having multiple accounts is a violation of most forum’s rules.

Having multiple accounts is a violation of most forum’s rules.

I remember one backpacking forum where a guy named Nature Boy...after the wrestler...had a dual account and started a long running argument on a topic with the other account he had.

It was actually a great well thought out debate on both sides but ultimately turned ugly with name calling to threats. There were other threads in which NB woukd dispute anything his other half would say.

Not sure how the Mods found out but they did explain the situation.

Btw....I'm Al D as well........and I really don't like the original F40 configuration.

I once was obsessed about the top 30 posters here. I had a process where I pulled data from the site, massaged it in a spreadsheet to get historical rates and then predicted when someone would pass someone else in the top 30. It was fun, and not really accurate. I gave up when the next change was predicted 12 months out since it was no longer a horse race but a marathon. The change in board software made things harder. The fundamental problem with my methodology is that all of the action involved someone new entering the top 30 and that "invalidated" my history.

Last time I looked many folks averaged less than one post a day. The fast movers were about 3 posts per day and I don't think I ever saw double digits.

I could probably do some interesting things now since if I begged hard enough I think I could get @GAD to give me read only access to the LTG database or a static snapshot but I have been too busy to ask.

LTG had one person who used two accounts. Their manner was somewhat confrontational and I believe the second account was made deliberately to bait the mods and distract from what the main account was doing.

As a mod it is my job to read every post so suspicions were first raised when I thought the "voice" of the two accounts were similar. Given suspicion, there were cases discovered where the two accounts were arguing with each other. Eventually there was enough evidence that the two accounts were sharing an IP address for the Mods to act.

Would two different people in the same household share an IP address? If Mrs. Fro joined us she would have the same IP as you, correct?

Yes.

But the tone and behavior made us ask if there was a duplicate account and the same IP address was circumstantial evidence in support.

I am not at liberty to reveal all of the technical wizardry @GAD has deployed to protect LTG from spammers, duplicate accounts and strange beasties that go bump in the night but it is more than duplicate IPs. If that was enough to detect a duplicate then I'm not going to let @Default onto the wifi next time he visits ;-)
