So, I picked up a copy of "Fender, The Golden Age" by Kelly, Foster, and Kelly. On page page 251 there's a picture of Jimi Hendrix and Cornell Dupree backing Wilson Picket. Hendrix is playing a white Jazzmaster (I LOVE Jazzmasters!). But, while Dupree's guitar is hidden behind Picket, the Guild headstock is CLEARLY visible, the end of a Guild Bigsby is plain, and there's a clear view of a toggle-switch on the upper bout. I'm thinking it's a Starfire III.
And I just found this picture, taken at the same gig, which shows the SF-III...
Dupree's mostly photographed with a Telecaster so this was cool picture to me- two of my favorite guitarists playing two of my favorite less-than-mainstream guitars!
