I dont know how many of you are on Talkbass because I posted this in the Guild Club thread, but I though it was cool enough to post here and you guys would like it. I went to my local Music-go-round a couple weeks ago and found a nice white Gulid Pilot, loved it, wish I had 450 to spend that day...but besides that, it playing really well. But this wasnt no ordinary Pilot, I found out from one of the workers at that store that this bass was used by Aerosmith as a back up. I didn't believe him until he showed me the inside of the electronics cavity, it had a sticker that said "Property of Aerosmith #xxxxx" what ever the number was. I felt like I was a superstar! Non the less, Tom had a good taste in basses!

I do recall you posting this story on TB.. some of those big bands go through so many instruments on a tour, I wonder how many other basses, amps, or whatnot are out there just waiting to be discovered.. kinda cool that the store didn't decide to slap a premium on it because of its history.

so did you buy it?

I've made a couple minor discoveries after i've bought basses - it's exciting to find paperwork under pickups etc
