Considering a 2014 F-30 Aragon--Any Thoughts?

Welcome. One thing to keep in mind with New Hartford F-30's is that the specs are different for the F-30 Traditional and F-30 Standard. The nut width ( 1 11/16" vs. 1 3/4") is the one that concerns most people. Guild only used "F-30 Aragon" for the Traditional so you have correctly identified the model. (Tortoiseshell binding is another difference). This matters most when looking for comparable instruments since the MSRP of the Traditional was a couple hundred dollars (US) higher.

My recollection is that the street price for a new one was around $2,200 (plus or minus a couple hundred) in 2013 (plus or minus a year or two) so the price for the new one seems reasonable. The question would be what exactly is the warranty, who is responsible for warranty claims, and how much is that worth to you?

Thanks very much for the input and confirmation on the model etc. As someone points out above, for a number of reasons the warranty probably is a moot point, as I'd be buying it in Europe but am planning to move back to North America mid-summer 2021, and the Guild warranty only applies to gits purchased in US, while if any EU warranty would become irrelevant after I move.

In which case the value of the warranty becomes 0, and then it's just a question of the guitar and its current state, which appears to be like new, as the plastic is still on the pick guard and I think head stock. I've watched video samples the store owner just made and the guitar sounds very good.

Guilds are generally more expensive in Europe. If you are moving to North America this summer I’d suggest waiting and look for one here. Plus you won’t have to hassle with moving it.

The price seems high, but it is new old stock. I’ve seen them used in very good shape in the US for about half that.

There is also one new old stock in Canada for essentially same price which suggests to me it is a dealer MSRP price.

I’d shoot them an offer for 65% or about 1430 euros and see if they bite.

I just came upon an AGF thread by a guy who just last month purchased a New Old Stock 2012 F-30 Standard Sunburst from a store in Canada: it was listed for the equivalent of $2,500 (US) and he offered them $1,500. After making him wait a bit, they accepted--though this was a chain store, whereas I'm dealing with a small independent store which might make a difference: a chain with a huge stock would find it easier to stomach a lower margin on a sale than a small proprietor with limited stock.... But your suggestion is worth a try. That it's basically brand new doesn't matter much to me, I'd be just as happy with a good used one.

Yes, you're right about both those points, and that's what I've been thinking about--I've lived in Europe for over a decade, and have lost sight of the kind of selection that will be available in North America. So unless I can work out a very good deal, probably not worth the trouble.

I have a September 2011 Italian pricelist showing the Euro values of list pricing, quite high! But mind that pricing already includes 20% VAT !

USA list pricing in 2010: I believe to remember that the Guild pricing in general increased sharply between 2010 and 2011.

Thanks very much, Ralf, this is great info to see; it really puts the prices in perspective.

I don't grab guitar for a particular sound, just what moves me at the moment. That being said, it is great for mild guitar reinforcement when singing solo.

I know that in the case of the 2010 F-30 I posted pic about above, the tortoise binding is the most easily seen distinguishing feature between Standard & Aragon. But in the case of a 2007 Tacoma F-30, in what appears to be the Ice Tea Burst, would it have an Adirondack top, as they were only using Adirondack on the F-30 in Tacoma at that time? Or were they also doing an Aragon w/ Adirondak and a Standard w/ Sitka top? See pics below of specific 2007 F-30 in question. Thanks for any help on this.

Since this is a February 2007 one, here is the Feb 1, 2007 price list:

There was no Standard model, just the Traditional:

And from the 2006 catalog:

Thank you for confirming this. I'd looked at some older posts on this forum and I thought that's what the general agreement was, but it's reassuring to have verification. Older posts on the subject also confirmed the idea that I'd be better off waiting to get back to North America before pursuing F-30s, as the prices will be consistently better there than here in Italy (and I won't have to worry about safely transporting it).

Just doing a drive by and saying hi ! 😊
If you think about it or if they thought about it in older posts. One / I would figure yes one of them would sport a Adirondack top simply because the had both models with Adirondack tops on the contemporary series .
but I digress and off I go more Coffee !! ☕☕
