Ilove this guy's songs and his voice. I've been researching Chris, and I'm really impressed that he is a devoted husband and father, writes his own songs, and sings harmony with his wife.

I always assumed he was singing songs other people wrote. In fact, it's just the other way around - he wrote songs for other people for years.

Yes he wrote a lot of country hits before he made it on his own.

I first heard/saw him on the CMA's a few years back where he did Tennessee Whiskey with Justin Timberlake. Then I played Tennessee Whiskey at a gig a month or so later and someone came up and told me they thought I was playing He's So Blind which I discovered is basically the same 2 chord tune with the same guitar hook and the same melody. Which I just heard the other day while rewatching the Muscle Shoals documentary on Prime.

If you haven't seen the Muscle Shouls doc. you should.

great voice indeed! and so simple, the playing, wow the harmony is fantastic with his wife. like the old beat up Gibson too.
but i can only listen for like 90 seconds then i want to go take a nap

I'm not a big country fan, but "When the Star Come Out" is a great song. Tells a great story, and the opening riff he does is sweet.
