From roughly 1998-2004 I've seen the following CGE-Made WD-Music pot codes, but I have no idea what they mean:

41-WD500
48-WD500
51-WD500
60-WD500

Clearly the WD500 means WD 500k Ohms, but does anyone have a clue what the prefix numbers indicate? I've found nothing online and have an email into WD, but figured I'd ask here too.

More modern CGE/WD pots have codes like WD300XLG or WDP-50L-1 but nothing I've seen lines up with the Guilds from the early 2000s.

My mid 2000 Bluebird also had: WD Music WD® FULL SIZE POT SPLIT SHAFT 500K A TAPER (made by CGE in Mexico for WD Music, CGE does not exist anymore).

19-WD500 (neck volume and neck tone)
98-WD500 (bridge volume and bridge tone)

I’d be tempted to think it’s a rudimentary date code of MY- (month year hyphen) but I’ve yet to see any signs of hexadecimal. It could work if Fender bought truckfulls of them in ‘98.

Ralf how do you know they’re A taper?
I had this in my Bluebird files and it was probably from this old 2007 webpage, but it would be not the exact type as the Bluesbird version had a 1/2" bushing height.
But the item was called "WD500" and CGE is in the address of the webpage. Not sure if there were other "WD500" items in the past.
