Anyone here have a B-301-type of bass with an alternative case? If so, do you mind letting me know what it is? I've been tempted to buy a bass with original case and then sell the bass but I think most folks here would know what would happen if I went that route...

I just bought a 301 through talk bass and it came in a roadrunner case. It’s fits fine.

@oscarwao Hey man, I think I might be able to add some info for ya. I recently bought a refinished B-302 with an original case. It was shipped from Rhode Island but the case was in bad shape and the guitar's finish ended up getting damaged as a result.

I went into my "local" guitar center today to buy a RoadRunner case as a replacement. I was looking for a RRDWB 'cause I like wood cases, but ended up getting a RRMBG case ('cause that's what they could find.) The guitar fits like this:

The width is fantastic but it needs a little blocking for length and I'd like to raise the whole guitar about a 1/4" to take any possible pressure off the back of the headstock.

When I walked in the door, this greeted me:

They (the fine folks at the West Des Moines Guitar Center) had taken it in as trade this morning (2 March 2021). I asked them what they wanted for it and they gave me a price I couldn't refuse.

I love Westerly Rhode Island Guilds!!!

Ahh, the old going in to get a case and leaving with another guitar trick. I am familiar with that one. Thanks for the note and congrats on both.
