I've been on the lookout for some DA 2Ks, and I found these on the bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Dearmond-PickUps-Br ... dZViewItem

Does anyone know what they are and how they might compare to the 2Ks?

I'll be putting them in my Westerly SFIII...

Those would probably fit better than 2ks, IIRC, 2ks screw directly to the top of the guitar and are not adjustable.

Take a look at these gfs pups. They're inexpensive, but I've heard good things about them.

Those GFS Brooklyns look pretty cool. I see the surface mount ones all the time listed on ebay, but I think the bridge one is too tall. I'll look into those on Harmony Central...

Meanwhile, anyone know about these DAs? Are they alnico? Humbuckers? Are they the same as the Guild 'buckers in my SFII with a different cover??

Nope, they were only in the Dearmond guitars, not any of the Guilds. The one gfs pup that I linked to specifically because it wasn't surface mount. Unless the guitar was intended to have a surface mount fitting one is dicey.

Looking at the DA webpage, I don't really see them. They look like they might be goldtones?? The seller knows nothing about them.

The pickups linked in the first post above are not Goldtones. Goldtones have 2 kind of gold foil sections in the top, one for the poles and one for the adjusting screws. They are medium output and have 4 conductor output so they can be split and inverted using switches. As far as I know, they are a recent-ish design (from the last ten or fifteen years, that is). Here's a Goldtone:
