So while I'm on sabbatical from all my gigs, I decided to bring my '76 D25M in for some maintenance today. Elderly is finally re-opened.
My guitar tech, Scott Geirman, looked it over and is going to call me back with the birdseye lowdown. First of all, they are sequestering all incoming repairs for 3 days.
I'll be back with a full report when I get it back.
Hans, I'm finally having the small crack in the bridge repaired!
While I was there, I took the opportunity to play a new F55 Nat. Big guitar with a big sound! What surprised me was how light it was, I expected it to be heavier when I picked it up.
I was a bit disappointed in the top wood though - it had like a knot in the middle of the lower bout. This is not what I would expect from a grade AAA spruce top.
