Has anyone tried wooden pins?

I have Rosewood Pins in my D-46 but since this was done with a completely new setup I cant't tell the difference, except the guitar sounds great :D .
maybe I should try bone, too, any recommendations folks?
Michael,
I put black buffalo horn pins in my D-46.

Mostly for the look, but I think they sound a bit warmer than the Tusq I had put in temporarily (while the old plastic pins were being measured for the new horn pins).

Hello to all Guild lovers.
I'm a new comer for this LTG. I was allowed to join you just yesterday.

About bridge pins, I also did some "experiments" before. I tried different materials including plastic, bone, brass, ebony, Tasq, and buffalo horn.
There were some audible differences. Now, I'm using Tasp pins on my D-55.
The most biggest difference came from short-cut plastic pins. Normal pin has 25mm of length except head part. I made it 20mm for all 6 pins.
The sound became very loud. But not good tone.
It was "broadness" sound. But difference itself was quite interesting.
Next time, I will try short-cut brass pins.

I put Rosewood pins on my D-40 without a new setup.
AFAIC, the Rosewood pins improved the sound. It's still
not a great-sounding guitar. But the wood pins
definitely made it a better-sounding guitar.

I would really like to find a substitute for the plastic pins of my D212, of a few reasons: They're too long and inconsistantly so (which doesn't look good) and they're of some cheap plastic manufacture and material that I'm sure kill the tone on its way from the strings to the top.

I'm curious if the holes for the pins are burred in a similar fashion and to the same diameter as those of the 6-string instruments and what that is. If they are I'm sure it shouldn't be any problem finding a substitute.

Thanx for taking your time.
