Did you know that Napoleon's nephew, Charles Lucien Bonaparte has a gull named after him? Well here it is.

Out early this morning and found this one in winter plumage for all you bird watchers in the audience.
*It's called a Bonaparte's Gull.

It seems like I heard that familiar refrain.... (chirp) I held her in my arms and (chirp) told her of her many charms and (chirp) kissed her while the fiddles played (tweet)...........or something like that as it flew out of sight.

But maybe I was dreaming! :lol:

Joe......You knew his name :shock: :shock: I am impressed....there are so many gulls around here and they all have their own name??? and you spotted this baby....I can barely remember my friends' names....did he answer when you called him, are you comfortable calling him 'Charlie'?...by the way great shot. This one was right across the channel from White Rock, combing the beach at Semiahmoo with a few thousand other birds.

I used to have a little house on the hill above the White Rock Pier...Looked across the bay, and I would have been able to wave to you, binoculars needed, but what a beautiful area...wish I still had it....now its worth a small fortune of course. The first night I spent there, a full moon was shining on the water and the Loons, were looning all night...pure magic....Steffan
