Just one more item to remember when you're finally on the way out, all the things you're going to avoid.

Doesn't look like much of a guitar hand, does it?

Of course by then you'll have a brain implant, and your computer will play the symphonies you hear in your head wirelessly, there will be no need for instruments.

Alexa, I want to play the Crossroads solo again, but with even more searing overdrive, sustain and feedback.

Alexa; Ok, I think you're going to like this, it's as if Beano Clapton is playing through David Gilmour's Hiwatt stage setup.

It's obvious a veer is needed here, to get back on track with the "vinegar solution".

Probably the best idea yet is to preemptively pickle your strings by immersing all your new ones in a gallon jar full of vinegar?

In high school, I made a slightly younger friend who was a very skilled bass player--naturally gifted. He had amassed a small collection of non-top-of-the-line basses, Fenders, Gibsons, etc. He was often given surplus gear by older musicians, who valued his services as an (illegal, under-age) emergency stand-in for gigs in clubs and bars. He could learn a band's entire set list in a single afternoon rehearsal. As a high school student, he had limited funds and a modestly large number of basses to string. He also practised a lot. His girl friend used to help him with coiling and boiling his strings. I can't remember whether she used a little something as a surfractant (vinegar, washing soda, dish soap) or not. I do remember that the liquid in the pot was very gross after the boiling. She would finish things by drying the strings in an oven on low heat.

When he was older and was working more or less full time in bar bands and had more money, the strings were no longer boiled, even though he still had the same girlfriend.

Well - do I remember correct - wasn't it you who did a lot string testings here ? 😂

Waiting for results - not holding my breath.
