Grateful Dead Founding Member Bob Weir Dead at 78
Bob Weir -- the guitarist and founding member of the Grateful Dead -- has died ... TMZ has learned.
I don't think any of us were surprised when Jerry died. He was so wasted towards the end of his life that their live performances suffered. Bobby, on the other hand, was shocking for me. He took really good care of himself.been seeing GD since I was 13, in 1991. Once had a full on conversation with Bobby, from the front row, while he was on stage, at the Capitol Theater. I'll never forget the moment I heard the news about Jerry passing, and then Brent, and Phil, and Donna. and now I'll always rememeber the moment I found out about Bobby. When I look back, I will always miss Bobby dearly.
"At least I'm enjoyin the Ride" RIP

I first saw the Dead at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY when I was 13 in 1971. Saw them about a dozen times between then and my last show at Madison Square Garden in 1989. We now live a mile from there and are going to a gathering/tribute there this afternoon.been seeing GD since I was 13, in 1991.
