Bob Weir RIP

No….☹️

Rest in peace Ace

Never was a huge fan or "camp follower" of the whole Dead "phenomenon", but I did/do like several of their songs, and they certainly constituted one of the defining sounds of SF Bay area Psychedelic music scene during the 1960s. (I lived there from '67-'70 and again from '71-'75)

Hats off to Mr. Weir for making it through life successfully as a working musician: no mean accomplishment.

Sail on!

been seeing GD since I was 13, in 1991. Once had a full on conversation with Bobby, from the front row, while he was on stage, at the Capitol Theater. I'll never forget the moment I heard the news about Jerry passing, and then Brent, and Phil, and Donna. and now I'll always rememeber the moment I found out about Bobby. When I look back, I will always miss Bobby dearly.

"At least I'm enjoyin the Ride" RIP

I don't think any of us were surprised when Jerry died. He was so wasted towards the end of his life that their live performances suffered. Bobby, on the other hand, was shocking for me. He took really good care of himself.

That was my impression, as well. Avid mountain biker, etc..

Oh well, nobody lives forever, and he was closer to 80 than to 70...

I first saw the Dead at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY when I was 13 in 1971. Saw them about a dozen times between then and my last show at Madison Square Garden in 1989. We now live a mile from there and are going to a gathering/tribute there this afternoon.

RIP Bobby. I'll be playing your music until I pass.

My band will be working on Cassidy at our next jam.
