Working on a personal project that requires input from players of genres I'm not familiar with. I need several (4+each?) samples of Rhythm and Lead patterns that can be easily recognized as belonging to a particular genre of music. So when that pattern is played the listener would be able to say: "That's Bluegrass", That's Latin Jazz", etc. I intend to pick a "Standard" song and arrange it in different keys + patterns that can then be easily identified by the listener. This will be posted to several forums.

Same pattern - different accents.
Some, maybe many of you probably have certain favorite rhythm patterns that you use for a number of different songs, changing the accents to fit the song. These could be helpful to me.

DISCLAIMER: " The following are just EXAMPLES, any resemblance to actual patterns is strictly
coincidental."

" " "^"^ l " " "^"^ Bluegrass pattern.

" " "^"^_l_" " "^"^ Blues pattern.

" "_"^"^ l " " "^_"^ Rock pattern.

" = downstroke ^ = upstroke _ = tie l = end of measure

See what I'm getting at: "same pattern - different accents.
Sorry, this laptop doesn't have special keys for music writing.

Hi Bumkneez; having a little trouble following here; maybe the up/downs might make more sense with a 'time', you know; for bluegrass 2/4, one-and-two-and and so on. cj

Sorry, that was 4/4 time 1/4 + 1/8 notes, just can't seem to put things so anybody understands me. Looks like I'm going to have to find some basic manuals on the different types of music to get the info I need. Didn't think it'd be so difficult.
Thanks for the feedback.

Kneez,

There's a copy of Fretbopard logic floating around the lending library here somewhere.

It's in DVD form as well as "Book with Charts". Far as I'm concerned Audio is the ticket to learn this stuff. Charts & graphs are nice but to see & hear someone demo the patterns makes a world of difference.

I don't remember who has the Fretboard Logic material, seems like it might be in Texas. Put out the word, it'll probably show up.
