Is that a long crack parallel to the top of the fretboard? Can you take a closeup of that area?
that looks to me like a reflection of the fretboard/binding/frets...Is that a long crack parallel to the top of the fretboard? Can you take a closeup of that area?
It's not that the height makes it unplayable, it's that the intonation starts going way out above the 5th fret because of the excess travel required to fret the strings.Actually, that's just over 1/8" - 5/32". not very high at all in my estimation. 5/64 would be just over 1/16".
If you measure it from the top of the fret, it's even less.
Yes it does and those strings look like 12-53 lights, not a good sign, especially if that's the way it was strung for most if not all of its life.
Yes I can confirm that's a reflection, but given the still questionable action height (not properly measured yet), @dreadnut I suggest it needs a neck alignment check:that looks to me like a reflection of the fretboard/binding/frets...Is that a long crack parallel to the top of the fretboard? Thanks dread... you're helping us to evaluate....No crack.
Just re-measured the action, it is exactly 3/32" (6/64") from the top of the 12th fret to the bottom of the string.
