This thread here reminded me of an old fetish uhm, thing of mine: People trying to sell their guitar and not being able to NOT show their feet on the pictures 😂

You see these every now and then, and oddly I'm always very happy when I see one . You are invited to contribute to this thread of course, but it's fine as well when you just read along or even ignore it and never talk to me again because it's awkward 😅

Ok, let's get started:

Please note the tension the photographer must have felt to capture this beautiful Gibson LP in the right light and angle. He felt it down to his toes!

This one here is special. I call it "Three Feet, One Guitar".

By merging this beautiful guitar and three ugly feet into one picure, the photographer has succeeded in an astonishing way in translating the archetype for the fleeting and very abstract concept of "contrast" into visual language. A milestone.

Somewhere deep inside I felt I was not the only one. Well then, here's my contribution to this album.

Edit: Boneville88, are you the owner of this album? this is epic! I just woke up and scared my dog because i burst out laughing 🤣

Ha. Yeah, I don't like pictures of feet in guitar shots either but what's worse is when they catch their reflection in the body of the guitar & they are taking the picture whilst naked...

Whoa. Let's just hope that nobody turns up and throws in a gallery of this 🙈

Glad you like! So be forewarned... post a photo of a Guild for sale and dip your toe or stick your foot in it,
you may just end up in that gallery, where it'll remain forever... :devilish:

White. The color of purity and innocence.

Not in this case though.

White. The color of purity and innocence.

<veer>

When I was in high school (definitely in the last century) the phys ed uniform consisted of white socks, marron gym shorts and a white t-shirt. Footwear color was left to the student although in those days the only choices were black or white.

The story was that in the distant past someone had worn black socks in gym class, developed a blister that broke and the wearer was subsequently poisoned by the black dye leeching out of the sock.

I'm not sure which is worse - that someone in a position of authority told the story or that most of us believed it. In any event only a special type of dweeb wore white socks outside of gym class.

Oh boy, what a story. The only ones who get poisoned by textile paint are probably the poor guys in india/bangladesh/vietnam etc who dye clothes without protection or have to use the wastewater of the factories to water their fields...

But wait, maybe your story explains the stereotype of the american tourist who always wears white socks? 😅

Ok, back to business:

This one is a bit more subtle and somehow sad. I call it "Broke mom tries to sell her son's guitar to buy more nail polish ".

It is a cool guitar. I like it, but 300 euros plus shipping to US is too much for a curiosity.

Cool shoes too.

It's 300 Swiss Franks CHF, so you would have to pay a little less $, and maybe he takes offers, but still... I honestly don't know enough about it to judge wether there is more to this instrument than just being a curiosity.... Yet allone this spring on the tailpiece looks pretty... swashbuckling 😅

On today's menu: The Birkenstock.

Contrasting this beautiful guitar on a soulless industrial background with this almost all-too-human object in the upper left corner, the artist creates an eerie feeling of familiarity creeping into the viewer, causing a lasting impression.
