Man I'm tempted! What do you think Greg? The finish is awesome!

The Legacy Special is a really nice guitar. I had a '94 and should never have sold it. I like the '90s versions best. I believe the one you're looking at is a '93, maybe '94. The only thing to worry about with that particular guitar is the blue swirl finish. The swirl is under a clear coat and the clear coat sometimes bubbles and chips off here and there in small coin-size (or smaller) spots. They stopped offering the swirl finishes (blue, silver, green, red) about 17 years ago for that reason. It looks really clean and I wonder if the finish hasn't bubbled by now, it's probably not going to (just be extra careful of temperature extremes and don't drop hammer on it).

Thank you, I knew you were the right guy to ask! :) Do you think the hotrail PU's are original?
The finish is the thing to worry about alright, but it also is what makes it stand out!
I need to talk to the family, maybe we can make an extended weekend trip to Belgium and I can go and check this out. Thanks again!

I wonder how they did it?
When I was at the factory, they showed me. They spray the base color (in this case black) and then dip a sponge in the contrasting color (blue) and swirl it around to achieve the pattern. Then it dries and they spray a clear top coat.

Required foot content...

Cross-legged photographer and G&L bass.

Very interesting! How cool of them to show you how they applied this finish!

Re the cross-legged photographer: this person must have incredibly long arms!

Seller advice: Always make sure to capture front, side and back of the guitar. Preferably on your most fancy rug.

And you get ponus points for that extra garden shot!

But they just can't take 2 minutes and fix that hanging string...
