Surprisingly they followed up the Build bass with a Guild F-412 for flattop Friday.
”ok, now let’s plug it in and see how it sounds on some single notes.” *Proceeds to play nothing but chords again*

LOL! I didn't notice he said that until you pointed it out!

And tuned in fifths!
Usually he does the guitar justice. Especially the old Fenders. But between the off tuning and the playing styles, nothing was highlighted. Uninspiring!
It's a "used" stamp second. Maybe Corona? He didn't say, and I couldn't see a inside label. Not sure if had one?
It's claim to fame was possibly the same model being played by Jeff Buckley.....lol!

Say what you want about Mark (I know there are some here who didn’t like him), but he usually played something appropriate to the guitar he was showcasing. Lemmo just plays his same stuff on whatever he’s using, usually, in the case of electrics, with an absurd amount of reverb.
I mean, who demos a Guild 12 string playing damped ”chords”?!?

Agreed!
I like Lemmo, and Mark too. But this F412 was not showcased IMHO. The off tuning was especially non enhansing. And heavy strumming rather than picking.

This is an interesting point, I agree. I found Mark to be a bit "smarmy", but I agree he played multiple styles for multiple guitars. He created excellent demos for most guitars. This new guy does not give as good of an overview of the guitar's qualities (verbally), and does not seem to put as much effort into showing a guitar's sonic qualities.

As more shops sell more guitars on-line one would think this would become a more important part of their marketing process. For example, I always like it when there is some sort of video demo in a Reverb ad. Given the types of guitars for sale (and the prices) at Norman's and other dealers like it, this should be a higher priority. But if thy are selling plenty of guitars, maybe they don't think they need to.

Good catch! I'd say a Westerly made one. But no label visible in soundhole.
