Recently acquired this bass and was curious what the value of it is. It was bought new in 98 and is in pristine condition with just one small rub on the back. Thanks.

Welcome. Guild was never consistent with model numbers and labels but that was sometimes cataloged as a B4CE meaning B4 with cutaway and electronics. NT is usually Natural and HR is usually hand rubbed finish. Serial number dates after 1997 but Hans Moust would be the best source of a more precise date. I'd be willing to bet the case is not an original Guild case. Too much room "above" the headstock.

Since you just acquired it, the value is whatever you gave to get it :) If you are trying to see whether you got a good deal, I gave my B4CE away to a family member so it was worth $0 to me. Reverb has 5 sold B4CEs ranging from $600 to $999 and two for sale now at $799.99 and $999.

I'm going to move this to Bass because it might bee seen by other current and former owners.

that does look pretty clean. 600-800 with the case would be a fair deal id say, for that. 800-850 if super clean and perfect, and u really really wanted it.
500-600 is the "i want it gone" price for near mint with the case.

Guild sourced several different batches of cases. That one could be original to the bass. since the top of the body is form fit in the case like a glove, the headstock cannot slide "north." most B4 cases also fit a 60s/70s/Newark Street Starfire bass (but not 90s) and possibly a Jack Cassidy epiphone case (as this one would- with that larger headstock area). many of the Guild bass cases do have less space in that headstock area and are specifically fitted for that instrument (like the 90s Guild Starfire bass). But overall this case looks very acceptable and could be original.

thanks for letting us know. i would say you did really well!! Reverb is on fire these days. can only wonder if things will crash a bit, as people start to leave their homes and resume their day to day lives and expenses...or if the younger generations will truly value, and pay for, the vintage USA instruments. time will tell!

Figured I would share this video here for the future Guild B4ce info-seekers' sake. This one is a fretless, just featured the other day at Norm's Rare Guitars. This fella sure makes it sound nice.
