Jaguar, you are a man of few words, but you speak through your collection of guitars and amps. WOW!

Ha, thanks! In hindsight, I wish I spent more time playing them than researching them. I'd be a much better player now had I done that.

Just read and looked at some of Jaguar's unbelievable articles and guitar collection. I say the COVID - 19 ISOLATION will be over before one would be able to complete the entire read. By some chance you have not looked or read, let me recommend it!!!!

No cowboy chords for that boy! 😁
Cougar, in my experience, determination is the key to learning. Don't be intimidated by those cords that Tobias is playing. Like any other chord, all you need to do is find them, practice them and explore! It's only a matter of time. Muscle memory is the key.

Stuball, you need to give us a sample of the Bozung Super with the Engelmann Top and Cocobolo back and sides! I bet it sounds awesome.

I'll add my congrats to Rich on his new acquisition.....looks and sounds like a fine guitar!

But a little detour....

GGJaguar....

Was looking at your collection....some great stuff!

I believe I'm the current owner of that X-100?
I'm pretty sure the the guy I bought it from was not you.....hope it wasn't stolen!
I've had it for several years now......could be wrong but all the dings in the finish line up.
Its a great guitar....with a spectacular sounding "old school" Franz pickup.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.....

Could be. I sold it many years ago so it could have changed hands several times since then.

This must have been during a period when Johnny Smith was once again endorsing the Artist Award. It is cool to see his signature on the headstock faceplate logo. Great chord/melody playing and beautiful tone from this guitar and amp setup.

I'm not sure if the artist was actually involved at this point, Bill. Maybe. Or, maybe they were just re-issuing something from the old days. Bob Benedetto certainly made some magnificent jazz boxes.

Rich, why do you think this is a 2004? Wouldn't it have been in Westerly? Forgive my ignorance.

Chazmo, sorry for being confusing. My incoming X-700 Stuart Benedetto is a 2004. It was made when Guild was in Corona. The serial number with CBB1011. Westerly Benedettos' serial numbers begin with Gbb****.

I think that I remember reading that Johnny Smith was once again associated with Guild in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. I don’t think they could use his name w/o his permission. But, Hans would know for sure.

Could today have a little extra excitement and anticipation in it?
If course, we want to know!

Shelby, it actually arrived early...came yesterday afternoon. I waited for it to get acclimatized then in the early evening opened the case. What a beauty! While tightening the strings the "G" string snapped, so now I'm faced with a dilemma, either to just replace the "G" string or put on another set. BTW, the strings on it are new, installed by the seller.
