If I liked the brand and gauge, I would replace the string. If not, put your favorites on and save those. Many say most likely string to break.
I do three things if I "hear" a string pop or one breaks.
1. Take same gauge string and use a filing action with pressure and pull it back and forth in nut slot
2. Put a little graphite powder (#2 pencil lead) in nut slot
3. Take the widest wax dental floss I have and repeat step one.
Seems to help and no particular order. Just be sure to wipe around nut to get up any excess graphite dust.
