Does anyone have photos of the famed arch press used to make the Maple Jumbo's etc?
Nice, thanksI think this is it...
Why do you say that, DTC? I think it's the back view and front view (respectively) of the same archie press that's been Guild's since Westerly. Those are definitely two different presses in the photos from MLBob and GardMan.
No, it's the same, in the first picture the control unit just sits right next to it on that table. In that first picture above next to Ren she is not yet installed but came that way from New Hartford to Oxnard. That heated 30 ton Wabash press was in Westerly in service since 1985 according to the Guild webpage. Those are definitely two different presses in the photos from MLBob and GardMan.
And nobody since cared removing it in NH or in Oxnard, you still see it in the new pictures on the Guild webpage! A nice reminder from the past! I guess nobody in Oxnard knows what KMC was anyway... So that press was most probably in Corona after Westerly and later in Tacoma and from there to NH and back to California. So it's the 5th Guild factory she sees! You can see the "ship to KMC" on the front of the controls.
I think it's really cool that Oxnard has chosen to show the F-512 Maple (F-412 ) with the historic Wabash press that's been making these things since time forgotten. I really hope CMG plans a new Let's Meet Guild event (or something) so we can meet the new stewards of Guild. They seem to really "get it."
