They were made by Hagstrom. 1970 was a year of transition for basses starting out with Hagstrom Bisonics on all basses and ending up with the Guild humbuckers on all basses. During transition there were basses with with a a neck position Bisonic and one of these at the bridge. I know I've seen a JS II with that configuration but can't recall a Starfire II with one.

https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/guild-bass-pickups-before-1971.169929/#post-1505669 suggests my memory is wrong and it was also seen on a Starfire II and M-85 II.

@mavuser is pretty good about bolstering my memory and might have pics. @Happy Face had a pair that ended up with me but I passed them on to a friend who was actually modding and building.

http://www.oldfrets.com/GuildBass.html is a link to pics of a 1970 JS II with it in the bridge.

I'm thinking they are not highly regarded and $100 should get a pair and some change.

I think they are single coil but if anyone remembers differently and says they are humbuckers I won't argue.

My memory is worse than yours on this.

Through the mists of time, I recall I bought one. I thought about installing it my Yammie SA 17 hollowbody. But it was so heavy that I decided against it.

If I had to guess, I would say that these might be humbuckers, due to the 4 screws on the bottom of the pickup. They look like they would be the coil attachment points.

Hagstrom mini humbucker, paired w Bisonic on Guild basses in 1970 as eluded to above. the Bisonic was always in the neck and the mini hum in the bridge. middle should be out of phase
