He's known for speaking his mind: He ripped the term "Americana" while accepting the "Best Emerging Artist" award at the 2018 Americana Music Awards. Gotta respect a man who speaks his mind.

Several years ago I realized the music world was passing me by - just listening to WXPN wasn't going to be enough and I really didn't want to remain forever stuck in my CSNY Springalo WhoStonesBeatles rut.

So now I try to regularly listen to All Songs Considered, Sound Opinions (although they can be a little hard to take), and the various World Cafe programs. I get occasional email suggestions from Bandcamp that can be really interesting. I think I learned of Tyler Childers either through All Songs Considered or World Cafe's Nashville programming.
