Anyone else find it odd that Cordoba calls their all mahogany dread a D-20?

With the specs you’d think it would be more or less a D-15 reissue. Maybe I’m being picky?

All explained here:

"When we took on Guild in 2014, we had the unique opportunity of seeing it through fresh eyes. As new stewards of the brand, we quickly realized there wasn’t an established naming pattern and decided it was best to simplify this process moving forward. We came up with this handy dandy naming chart, taking Guild’s historical & flagship models into consideration. Though there will always be exceptions to the rule, we plan to follow these general guidelines. "

Now we have argued about this a lot in the past but it is what it is...

yes, more like a pebble in the shoe for me.
but beats the alternative of an American made Guild brand just no longer existing.

I was thinking that was gonna be the case when Fender shuttered the New Hartford plant. I’m not sure about FMIC at times, sure they made a good Guild product when it was all said and done but it seems to me if it isn’t shaped like a tele. a strat or their various offsets they won’t know what to do with it. With the exception of Charvel/Jackson of course. They had multiple avenues to get a piece of the acoustic guitar market, something that the Fender brand seemed to have trouble with as far as being established as a respectable brand (their current offerings are actually good it’s just that stigma that they’re just good for making electrics).
