Interested if any of the forum members have one of the all mahogany dreadnoughts. What is the general consensus on this model?

thanks

I had one for a short time and it really was a nice guitar, but I never keep a dreadnought for long. I just prefer small body guitars and the dreads never really get any play.

I know @richardp69 was impressed with his.

I like the old ones a lot too :)
very sweet sounding...i just dont like mine anymore cause it's boring and i have owned it for so long. i would have sold it a while back if not for my wife's affinity for it. she is the only one that plays it. to be fair, it mostly hangs on a wall. looks cool though.

i prefer spruce topped acoustics. they are louder and clearer. hog tops are real subdued.

I brought home the D20 from my local dealer.

I’ve been playing for 62 years and have only had a couple Guilds (many years ago). All I can say is holy smokes folks…this guitar is a monster. Huge sound and great playability.

in my later years, I’m a returning to 1-11/16 nut width and 12“ radius fretboards. This guitar is extremely playable. my other fav is a Gibson J45 and going back and forth between the two is a snap due to the similar neck/nut/fretboard configuration.

What a beautiful guitar. It is much more articulate than the Martin 15 series dreads I’ve owned (all fine guitars, but a bit muddier sounding.)

Congrats RB! I played a couple of the D-20’s in a shop a few years ago. They did not disappoint. I have an F55 from they same factory and it is a powerhouse. I played a festival in downtown Farmersville TX yesterday and had several compliments on its beauty and tone. The gravy is good at the Oxnard plant.

Man all this D20 talk is making me itch for one! Such nice guitars, you're right, a plain and simple work horse kind of guitar. Can't go wrong with it, nice pictures of it, enjoy playing it thanks for posting it!

My D15 isn't subdued in the least, and I thought it would be based on everything I heard. Hangs right in there with my D25M spruce-top.

Yeah old Ren might have headed them down the right path out there. I have to give some credit to cordoba for letting them do their thing. I think they recognized what they were buying. I like their marketing. I like the models they’ve released. I just have to believe they are trying to honor the brand and make a little money in the process which they should.
