In Pete Townshend's autobiography, "Who I Am," he gives a shout out to a very special Guild. Pete's never been a big collector, not like Entwistle or some others, but he talks about selling some of the few special guitars to finance a 46' boat. I sold a lot of precious guitars to make the deal...

Guild Merle Travis

There were supposedly three of these guitars made. Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick has one. Pete Townsend has another. Does anyone know who has the third one?

What Guild Is this Closest to?

I know there were only 3 of these actually made (or so I read...) But was this based on a production design and tweaked? Or completely designed from the ground up for Merle? (Pete Townsend shown for scale)

Merle remains one of my favorite players, and he certainly did enjoy playing fancy guitars!

Well both of them are at the start of this thread. I didn't delete the duplicate because deleting the first post of a thread used to cause problems and the second actually had a reaction and I didn't want to lower your count
