A new addition to the family will be on the way Thursday. Just bought this Guild F-35 CE NT and I am anxiously awaiting the arrival. Her new sisters are thrilled and can’t wait to meet her!

I’ve had a lot of D models, D50, D40, a few 25s a D15 and a few D4s but this will be my first F-series.

What differences should I expect?

I guess it will allow me to make more different kinds of noise then!😃

I’ve actually heard some negative reviews on the F series guitars having kind of lower volume flat sounds. Wondering if that’s only for the 3” depth models? The 35 is supposed to have a 4 1/2” depth. Hoping it compares favorably to my dreadnoughts. We will see!

No, it's for the maple top models. The F65ce offered maple tops. The arched maple back of the F35ce will have a much different voice than a dread, I don't think you'll be disappointed with volume.

The one I have on the way has mahogany back and sides like my current three other Guild acoustics so the only difference will be body shape I believe. We will see, I'll review it when it arrives and post more pictures.

Have an F65ce (16" lower bout F-body c/e, 3" deep, arched maple back) and a D40 and D25. ('hog flatback and archback)
Never had any volume issues with the F65ce, which I virtually always play unplugged. ;)

OOPs yeah, just realized I thought that F35 was an arched maple back, being 4.5" deep instead of 3" like the F30ce, forgot it was actually 'hog, thanks for the reminder!
(F30ce's of the '90's were actually blinged down versions of F65ce's) it's what Guildedagain showed in his photo.

"Lot of frets" refers to the fact that up to mid '94 or so all those "Fxxce's" had a 24-3/4" scale neck with 24 frets, 2 full octaves. 1-5/8"nuts, intended to feel like electric necks.

IIRC Guildedagian has said it fills the bill nicely.
