There is an entire family in South America somewhere that all has 5 fingers and a thumb. It's a weird genetic thing. Playing guitar I can hardly work the 4 + 1 here and make it work......

This instrument is "Pikasso", designed by Linda Manzer for Pat Metheny. Many of the additional sets of strings are sympathetic vibration strings, while some he plays like a harp. Link: https://manzer.com/guitars/custom-models/pikasso/

one of Hedges fave guitarists was Steve Howe of Yes.
he tells a story of meeting Howe in an elevator lobby as they were both on tour etc...he literally bumps into him.
he says, Mr Howe, can i show you this guitar?
Howe says of course.
He pulls out his Harp guitar and plays a bit for Howe who just stands there mesmorized.
Hedges puts guitar back in case and shakes Howe's hand and then walks off...
Howe was said to exclaim a friend with him, "that was the best guitarist I ever seen"
no doubt, Hedges was just beside himself with glee at having played for one of his heroes.
