Depending on your height,you can sit on one of those. Check Watkins/Wem amps.. BTW, .I wonder if JJ Cale used amps he could lay back on?.... Suggested songs for tired guitarists : "Sittin' on top of the amp" , "While my guitar gently sleeps", and "Like a yawning stone".

Now that is cool !!! Would fit perfect in the man cave!



There were multiple models of them, the Checkmate 30 with 8" 10W speaker, a Checkmate 32 with 10" speaker and a 30 watts Checkmate 38 bass amp with 12" speaker. The left brochure picture shows a Checkmate 22 head driving two such speakers (different model which I guess had no amp bulit in).

And yes, they had cool stuff in the 60's and 70's! I also like the look of a similiar one, the Zenith "Circle of Sound" system:
