....besides the G-1000 acoustic oriented model from the 1990's. Didn't Guild make an earlier model, sort of Hexagonal shape, drum-throne height model prior to the G-1000??
I am almost positive that one existed, but I'm failing miserably searching google today.

Hope all is well with all of you, especially Hans Moust! I'm still Guildty!

Best regards,
Howard Emerson

Yes, it was in the shape of a hassock or ottoman, but that's all I know. I can't remember the model number or name but someone here will know in a minute or two!!

Only one I'm aware of is the G1000. They did come in brown and black, though.

Are you maybe thinking of this RVT from Gibson?

I love these. They're a little out of my price range though.
Nope. It was already mentioned earlier, or similar.

This actually had a padded cushion on top, but I’m still thinking it predates the Guild G-1000 by quite a bit. I’m going to ask on the Facebook Archtop page where a lot of antique players can’t remember yesterday’s lunch, but old amps?
No problem.

Could it have been Randall? IIRC they were the actual OEM of that series. ;)

My hunch about the FB Archtop group paid off! The Toby amplifier...
Oh, great find! But that model on the album cover does not have a cushion on top however he used it to sit on.

Or if he was not sitting on it the "stool amp" has sat on a stool!

As you can see below, there was also a taller version of that model with two speakers:

And the late Toby Guynn made yet another one:

A member on talkbass.com posted this:
"Here's my Toby Model 100-B bass amp / stool. I can't find another reference or pic of this particular model anywhere online. Bought it today in Fort Worth where it apparently was originally made around 1965 according to the manual. Sounds great for what it is. I bought it for living room acoustic jams and just because it's cool as crap. It'll rattle the walls pretty good. It has two separate channels each with volume, bass, and treble, and a downward firing Jensen 15. I imagine that a bass and a jazz guitar would sound really good through it. "

That's the only picture I found:
