I have a FISHMAN LOUDBOX Mini for my D55, but am looking for something to play my
STARFIRE III through. Any recommendations?

Hey, D55, I also have a Fishman Loudbox Mini for my acoustic. For my electric I recently got a Fender Superchamp X2, it's a tube amp with digital effects, and it really screams. Nothing like tubes. Hard to believe it's only 15 watts. And it's not huge to lug around like a lot of amps.

Good choice, dread! I think these are the best value in small tube amps. It's like the Princeton Reverb of yesteryear without the price tag. Love the tolex and tan front combo!

There are also tons of mods out in the Interwebs if you're a solder slinger, but the biggest simple improvement is a speaker upgrade. Lots of people suggest that an Eminence Rajun' Cajun' makes a big difference.

I am a solder slinger, but I didn't have to be on this one, it was custom built; a 15W Super Champ head in a cab with a 12" speaker as opposed to the normal 10" speaker in the combo amp. This thing wails and moans. I love the snakeskin tolex too.

Oh yeah, that's right. Stupid me -- I knew I recognized this from the initial thread when you posted it. I remember now that this had the special run 12" WGS speaker. Sheesh!

Just to loop back to justify the veer, I think these or even one of the earlier Super Champ XDs would be a great option with a Starfire III.
