I ordered a Planet Waves 5' guitar cord from Amazon because all my cords were much longer and I wanted one that was out of the way for practicing at home. Apparently they were out of stock, so what did they do? They sent me a 10' D'Addario Circuit Breaker cable instead. A bargain if I wanted it, cheaper than at Sweetwater, but I have 10' cables and wanted a shorter one. Oh, well. make do I guess, until one of the local stores opens after the quarantine.

Cut it in half, add George L type ends?
I suppose I could. I should probably just dig a little deeper in my stuff, likely to be a 3 or 6 footer somewhere.I do like the little red shutoff button on the guitar end of the cable, it would have come in handy when gigging and changing instruments.

Just coil up 1/2 of it at one end or even in the middle and secure with Velcro...enjoy the shutoff button.

Wouldn't need velcro, came with one of these:

I also have some cheap shorter coily cords and they have become my go to's for at home/studio play. Stay in place. Don't trip over them not that I had a problem with that but just in case. I think I got them from Amazon.
